And with a Blue Moon as well. Seems to work somehow.
Am sort of working hard at getting stuff done for my Etsy shop. Indigo's just been hit with chicken pox though, so my time is divided, and I'm sure will only get more so once the others get it as well.
But otherwise I think I'm doing alright. Sewing on the snaps is likely going to be slow and tedious, as per usual. I'm a bit worried about taking pictures, my camera's getting more and more "special" *sigh* Everything collapsing at once. Anywho.
I've got all six of the summer dresses done now. I have an evening gown style dress done, and am currently working on more of the (as I think of them) ballroom style dresses that I had cut out a long while ago. I have another evening gown style to sew, and then a couple ken outfits, and that will be where I end for now and then I shall start sewing snaps (joy and bliss)
I noticed that my pickings of material for ken clothes is.. a bit slim, lol. I don't have much, in my opinion, that's mellowly toned enough for the usual ken look. It seems ho hum to always be solid colours, but I guess I'm going to have to look into getting some for use with his stuff.
Oh well.
I'm also pondering in my head the making up and then making of, some doll accessories.. bags and stuff like that. Could be interesting.
I'm hoping for good things in the new year. But I suppose everyone does, don't they?

Productivity is Great
Very Very productive, and I Love it. Going to take advantage of it while I can! My current goal is to make a bunch of stuff for listing on Etsy on the 1st. New year, new items kind of thing. Once I get the summer dresses I had cut out done, I shall break from the doll stuff long enough to assemble the dress I had cut out just before Zoe's bday in July :/ Procrastinating, my bad. So she can wear it at least once before she's too big for it, lol. Then I'm going to cut out some Ken clothes.
Not having to fit a bust and waist is going to be Thrilling I tell ya! Am also thinking up some accessories I could make up for them as well. Bags and such. Those little things that make play so much more fun :)
And here are pics of productivity.

Everything I got sewn yesterday after I finished the music bag.

8 new barbie dresses, wee!

Cute little pink lambs. I've got two blue ones listed in my Etsy shop already. And I made Xander a blue one with purple feet.. his Star.. although I hadn't intended it for him, but he LOVED it so much when I finished it, I HAD to give it to him :D (otherwise might have gone to one of the girls)
And today I have started on the summer style dresses I had cut out many moons ago, and here's one of them finished

There are supposed to be straps on it, but it stays up well on it's own, and the ribbon is a pain to sew in the right place :P lol. This dress doesn't really fit the old body style though... the top is too big on them. BUT they DO almost perfectly fit the newer body style, so Yay! I will have to remember to mention that in the listings when I make em.
And now that I've had my break, and caught this all up, I'm going to go continue!
Toodles Doodles!

Music Bag
I finally got a music bag done for my daughter, to carry her music books in. I had put off doing it for her bday, which came and went, then I thought, for xmas, which came and went, and so had my desire to do any sewing apparantly, lol. But it came back today, yay! So this morning I cut it out, and sewed it. It's a bag entirely of my own design. The front pocket is a bit bigger than it really needed to be I think, but oh well, overall I'm happy with it, as is Indigo.

Here's the bag, hanging from my door. The strap was too big for her right now, so I knotted it at the top. When she's bigger it can be opened. I used two music print pieces of cotton. I cut around the music books that would be going in, leaving extra room to accomodate the thickness, as well as the possibility of bigger books down the road.

I picked up these rings for a different project a year or two ago. Finding the extras very handy as accents to various projects like this. The handle is made of one piece of the outer fabric, and then a piece of the lining fabric. Lots of reinforcing stitching.

Kinda blurry shot of the pocket on the outside front. As I said before, bit bigger than it really needed to be, but oh well. Better than too small? lol It stays closed with velcro.

Front of bag. Button is just a random stray I have in my collection. Seemed to match well with the fabric.

The lining material. Bit seasonal with the metallic gold snowflakes, but I figured, since her birthday is a winter one, it works for her :)

Christmas Dresses
So, I took into my head to make dresses for the girls for their Christmas Concert thurs night. Had burned my hand on Wed (brain ran away, was So stupid how it happened) so couldn't get started then, so, thankfully it was doing better on Thurs, and I was able to cut the dresses out and sew them:

Here they are together :) After which Indigo tells me she has to wear black and white :/ the dresses and jackets are made with two snowflake print fabrics. The darker one has glitter all over it. In such a way that it almost looks liquid or something in the light. The skirts are finished with a rolled hem, and the jackets are entirely lined with teh lighter blue material.

And these are the hair accessories I thought up to go with them.

Birthday Dress
The birthday dress has been finished. Well, except for a bit of hand stitching on the collar.... but I had some zippers to replace in pants, so I let that little thing slide, I can do it this afternoon when she gets home.
Now to the pictures!

Here's the jacket and dress, and a shot of the front, as much as I could fit.

A couple more shots of the front. the colours turned out a bit better with my camera.

This is a bit of stitching I did on the back.
And of course, pictures of the girl in the end result ;)

The hair clip I did right before they left for school :)
Happy 7th to my babe :)

Pictures
Found the cord, Hurray! Here are pictures of the dress w/jacket. I'll get close ups of some of the deatails once it's totally finished (and I find a room with Much better lighting for my lousey camera)

This is the dress all by itself (obviously, I know)

And here is the dress with the flowers pinned on. My camera did not do a good job At All of getting the colours right, for one thing, that orangish one at the top of the pic is actually more yellow... oh well. It gives you the idea.

And now I shall go finish up some pants that I'm replacing the zippers in, (now that I found where I'd put the other zipper) and then I'm going to find something on TV while I get started on the hand stitching of the embellishments.

Birthday Outfit
I had wanted to include pictures with this entry, but since my camera cord has up and vanished again (oh the joys of moving) I guess I'll have to come back and add them later :/
I got the entire thing cut out Saturday evening. Sunday was rather busy with church and then carol festival that night, so I didn't get anything done on the dress. Last night I got the dress part all finished up to hemming. I plan to do a rolled hem, so when I venture downstairs, where the serger is, (I brought my machine upstairs.. I have a 'sewing room' downstairs, but I hate being away from everything when I sew, so I brought it up here instead, lol) I'll finish it up then (I love my serger at times) and then this morning I assembled the jacket, all that's left assembly wise is some hand stitching of the collar.
I went with a completely black, flowy material for the dress. The stripes on the rainbow material just didn't agree with the cut of the dress I wanted to do. That was quite annoying. So black dress, the material being one of the much larger pieces of scrap that I got a few months ago from an old friend (several boxes of scraps) and the I used the rainbow material for the jacket. Now that it's done I almost wish I'd used some black on the jacket as well. Oh well. One of the drawbacks to being rushed, brilliant ideas come after the fact.
Either tonight or tomorrow I shall start with the embellishing. I have some ribbon roses that I HAD got to possibly use with the flower girl dresses, but didn't, but they match the rainbow stuff to a T, so I'm going to use them on the black dress, with one possibly being used for a hair accessory (the Indigo one of course ;) lol) I did top stitching with a blend of black thread with a rainbow varigated thread I had just a bit left of. I'm thinking the black thread was too thick for the combo compared to the other thread though, so not 100% thrilled with it unfortunately. Something to rememebr the next time I try that trick (yes, was the first time I've attempted it)
Nice purple zipper in the black dress. And terrible hand stitching of the lining to the bodice *sigh* A hand stitcher I am not :P Other than in cross-stitch, lol.
I think that's likely about it for now, as soon as I find the missing camera cord I'll post pictures in here.

Sew much to do, Sew little thread....
Am a little blog-happy right now, lol. This one here shall be my blog for sewing, to spare my friends and such from my ramblings and rantings.
Currently I'm working on, or wanting to get working on, a dress for my daughter's bday on Wed. (Just moved, things are kind of crazy) but the print of the material is not cooperating with the style of dress I want to make. *sigh* I may have to alter my plans.. but how to do so and still be happy with it is my biggest issue right now.
But it has to get done, birthday in only a few days!
*sigh*
